In this video, IM Andrey Ostrovskiy is covering the Muzio Gambit which is one of the sharpest lines in the King's Gambit Accepted. The main focus of this video is to show you the main strategies and plans for both sides in the different variations.

The King's Gambit starts with the moves:
1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Nf3 g5
White has several options here. One of the options is the Muzio Gambit which can be reached after the following moves:
4.Bc4 g4 5.0-0
White simply ignores the threat on the knight on f3 and castles kingside. Black can take the knight and probably has to capture the knight at this point, otherwise it is not clear why he made all of the pawn moves on the kingside. Furthermore, black is completely underdeveloped.
After the move 5…gxf3 6.Qxf3
It is not so easy for black to complete the development on the kingside. White already has an amazing concentration of pieces against black’s weak pawn on f7. White’s task is basically just to take the pawn on f4 at some point, not necessarily with the queen. Sometimes white is doing that with the dark-squared bishop.
Black has several options here:
2:09 6…Bc5+
After 7.Kh1 Qh4 8.d4 Bxd4 9.Bxf4
3:17 Black’s move 9…Nh6
White has several options here:
3:22 10.Bxh6
4:08 10.Nc3
Black’s move 10...Nc6. After 11.Nd5 0-0 12.Qh3 Qxh3 13.gxh3
5:22 Black’s move 13…Kg7
8:34 Black’s move 13…Bg7
11:38 6...Qf6
White has the following options:
11:52 7.d3
13:39 7.e5
Black’s move 7…Qxe5. After 8.Bxf7+ Kxf7 9.d4 Qxd4+ 10.Be3
Black has several options here:
15:31 10…Qg7
18:27 10…Qf6
White’s move 11.Bxf4
19:06 11…Ke8
21:38 11…Ne7
As a general conclusion: The Muzio Gambit is an extremely dangerous line, especially if you play it as black. It may also be dangerous if you play it as white against a well-prepared opponent. In order to play the Muzio Gambit either with white or black you need an amazing knowledge. You should be also a very good tactical player because it is all about tactical tricks and the accurate calculation of different lines.
