How to Checkmate with Knight and Bishop | Chess Endgame Basics #1
In this video I show you the technique how to checkmate with knight and bishop the opposing king. This video is part of my new series "Chess Endgame Basics" in which I show you elementary endgame positions and how to handle them correctly. The endgame is an important part of the chess game and the right knowledge can often make the difference between losing and drawing or drawing and winning. Enjoy watching!
There are two things I would like you to take from this video:
1. Drive the opposing king to the corner of the board which has the same color as your bishop.
2. Once you got the king to the edge of the board, perform the W-maneuver with your knight and drive the king to the right corner.

Niclas Huschenbeth (born February 29, 1992 in Hann. Muenden) is a German Chess Grandmaster. Huschenbeth learned how to play chess at the age of five and participated in youth chess tournaments. He was awarded the title of International Master in 2008 and the Grandmaster title in 2012. At age 18, he achieved his most notable success, becoming the youngest German Champion in history. He has played 52 times for the German national team and participated in two chess olympiads. Currently, Huschenbeth studies psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and plays for the university's chess team.
