In this series, you will learn some of the most important strategic concepts, which are very important in the endgame stage. The first part of the series gives a broad overview of the following strategic concepts: The active king, space advantage in the endgame, the principle of two weaknesses and β€œDo not Hurry”. Afterwards, the Dutch Grandmaster Sipke Ernst will discuss several types of material imbalances in the endgame. A common theme that deserves special attention is the sacrifice of a piece for several pawns.
