In this video, IM Alex Astaneh is going to be sharing with you a secret opening trick in the Tennison Gambit, which can arise out of the Scandinavian Defense or even the Zukertort opening. It begins as a gambit but it actually sets a very nasty trap for black. A gambit is basically a chess opening strategy in which a player sacrifices material, for example a pawn, in order to achieve an advantageous position or a development advantage. The Tennison Gambit is a popular response to the Scandinavian Defense and will for sure surprise your opponent. It is definitely one worth knowing from the white perspective as you can catch out a lot of opponents this way. For many chess players openings are the most exciting phase in the game of chess. There are various chess traps, tips, tricks, tactics, ideas, strategies, gambits and opening moves that you can use to fool your opponent and finally to win more chess games.
